Select a mounting location that will provide a strong, solid and reliable surface. Avoid weak areas or uneven surfaces. Ensure that when deployed, there is adequate clearance between propellers and other dangerous items.

Place the product in the desired mounting location with the brackets attached and mark the position of the mounting brackets.

Once the brackets have been marked, remove the product and mark each of the mounting brackets two holes.

The telescoping functionality of the product may bind excessively if the mounting brackets are not installed in a parallel fashion. Before drilling any mounting holes, place the product into its proposed location and ensure that its range of motion necessary for deployment and retrieval is not impeded by any boat surface or structure. Drill a ¼” hole for each of the marked mounting bracket holes.

The product should be mounted with ¼” diameter stainless steel bolts. The bolts should have large washers or a backing plate to help to distribute the load incurred when the product is fully deployed.

Tighten the bolts, making sure the mounting brackets are firmly attached to the mounting surface.

Finally, insert the ¼” bolt through each arm of the unit. Make sure to check and finalize all installations prior to deploying, retrieving, or climbing on the product.

If your mounting surface is unique, please contact us or send a digital picture. We may have some ideas or have solved the same problem for someone else already!

Operation:(Click any image to enlarge)

To deploy, lift the folding stair platform off the deck surface.

Rotate the folding stair platform on its mounting brackets until vertical. Extend the telescoping arms by gently pulling up on both sides. Push the folding stair platform past vertical toward the water and release to let it sink into the water.

The momentum of this action as well as gravity will fully extend the folding stair platform. Take the stair and place the stud side to the right. Insert the stud into the mounting hole on the Click Slide bracket. Line up the hole in hte stair and the Click Slide bracket on the left side of the folding stair platform. Take the QuickTrieve pin and push it through these holes, securing the stair in place. The folding stair platform is now deployed and ready to use.

To retrieve the platform, pull the QuickTrieve handle- the stair pin will release and the stair will align with the QuickTrieve rope.

Continue pulling on the QuickTrieve handle to lift the folding stair platform out of the water until it is vertical.

Fold the outer underwater platform under and then gently push or tap on the top of the folding stair platform to compress the telescoping arms. Fold the folding stair platform flat and the Click Slide brackets will fold into their storage position. Be careful not to place hands or fingers in between the ladder platform and the Click Slide brackets or they may get caught.

Lay the folding stair platform flush on the deck.

Slide the QuickTrieve handle inside the round wire connector to the QuickTrieve pin with the pin parallel to the handle about 1/2 in. from the end of the handle. Turn the QuickTrive pin to the vertical position so it will grasp the QuickTrieve handle. Slide the Click Slide brackets in towards the boat to expose the two channels. Slide the stud on the right side of the stair into the right side channel. Align the hole in the left side of the stair with the left side channel. Stand the QuickTrieve handle up vertically between the folded and the stair. Insert the QuickTrieve pin through the stair and into the Click Slide bracket channel.

Maintenance:

The folding stair platform is designed and manufactured to require little maintenance; however, a few simple items will extend the life of your product:
  • Periodic washing off with fresh water, both inside and out
  • Periodic lubrication of the telescoping arms using silicone or similar substance (thoroughly spray into the hole in the bottom and top caps)
  • Wipe down the product from time to time to remove dirt and grime
  • Periodic polishing with a stainless steel polish for marine applications
  • Periodic inspection of the mounting brackets for safety and deterioration of the mounting surface
Safety Tips:

  • Keep fingers and toes clear of click slide brackets and studs as well as telescoping arms.
  • Do not jump on the ladder, or dive from the folding stair platform.
  • Step in the center of stair steps.
  • Only one person should ascend the stairs at a time.
  • Face the stairs when ascending or descending.
  • Do not use the stairs while engine is running.
